Winston-Salem City Council Members Helping Residents Get Covered

Members of the Winston-Salem City Council are helping residents sign up for insurance under the new Affordable Care Act (ACA).

On Sunday, March 23 from 1pm-5pm, residents seeking insurance coverage are welcome to join the Council members at Hanes Hosiery Recreation Center (501 Reynolds Blvd.) to get information on coverage and assist with enrollment. This event is free of charge.

Council Members Denise Adams, Dan Besse, Molly Leight, Jeff MacIntosh, Derwin Montgomery and James Taylor will be helping the public find coverage that suits their needs. There will also be other certified persons in attendance that will help the public get covered. The open enrollment period for ACA coverage ends on March 31.

If you are interested in attending, please bring the following information with you to ensure a fast enrollment process:

-Social Security numbers (or legal immigrant documentation numbers) for all family members to be enrolled.

-Estimated income information for 2014 (such as a recent pay stub or 2013 W-2).

-Employer information (if applicable), including name and address.
